Reliability is the first important for refrigeration condensing unit. We all know that commercial refrigeration is quite different from air conditioning. For air conditioner, it maybe runs 8 hours per days, but for refrigeration condensing unit, it almost runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. So the continuous running time of refrigeration condensing unit is much longer than air conditioner. At same time, it will face many problems, like high compression ratio, compressor discharge temperature over high, high and low pressure out of range, and many other problems. According to these problems, we design the control board, ensuring its high reliability from design.
This is the control board of our outdoor condensing unit, like the “CoreSense” control box of ZFI and ZSI Copeland scroll compressor.
The left one is No. 1 control board is for outdoor condensing unit from 1 HP to 7HP.
The right one is No. 2 control board is for outdoor condensing unit from 8HP to 15HP.
What’s the Functions of No. 1 Control Board?
The functions of No. 1 control board is below:
- Monitor the discharge temperature and condensing temperature
- Adjust the condenser fan speed
- Low pressure alarm
- High pressure alarm
- Condensing temperature over-high alarm
- Start frequently alarm
- Low pressure protection
- High pressure protection
- Condensing temperature over-high protection
- Phase sequence protection
During the electric board power-on, the unit information is displayed circularly, and each information will be displayed for 3 seconds. At the beginning of the power-on cycle display, then cycle display normally P3,P4,P5,P6, P7,P8, P9,PA, PC value or code.
When it displays P4, left is condensing temperature code P4, right is condensing temperature value, please see the picture below:
When there is fault, it will display the fault code, please see the picture below:
The No. 1 control board will display the discharge temperature, condensing temperature, fault code circularly.

What’s the Advantages of Control Board?
There are many advantages of the control board.
- Monitor the condensing temperature and discharge temperature. End users or maintenance personnel can judge the outdoor condensing unit running normally or abnormally by the condensing temperature and the discharge temperature.
- Adjust the condenser fan speed. The condenser fan speed is controlled by the vary of the condensing temperature. When the ambient temperature is very low, the control board will reduce the fan speed even stop the fan.
- Alarm code & Fault code display. With this intelligent control board, when there is fault, it will display the fault code directly, it is convenient to maintain and save more time.
- Protect the compressor. The compressor is the most expensive component for a refrigeration system. With these protections, the compressor is not easy to be broken. It also save the maintenance cost for end users.
