Regarding the selection of the evaporator for cold storage, due to different storage temperature, firstly we should select the appropriate evaporator fin pitch. Generally we have the evaporator unit coolers with the fin pitch: 6.5~7mm and 9~10mm.
Then according to the cold storage dimension to choose the appropriate condensing unit and cooler evaporator unit model.
Box evaporator is the main choice for most applications. But if the cold room needs a low profile unit cooler to make better use of the space in the cold storage, the flat air cooler is a good choice.
The flat air cooler is a dual discharge evaporator, with a ultra-thin structure. The air outlet is on both side of the unit cooler.
The match of the condensing unit with the evaporator is very important for the cold room. In practical applications, people will choose a large cooling capacity condensing unit, they think the larger the cooling capacity of the unit, the better the cooling effect. However, if the condensing unit (or compressor) cooling capacity is larger than the evaporator, the following problems will occur:
Reduced efficiency: If the condensing unit (or the compressor) cooling capacity is larger than the evaporator, the evaporator heat exchange area is not enough, the refrigerant cannot be fully vaporized and evaporated, resulting in the refrigerant failing to absorb enough heat before returning to the compressor, thus affecting the refrigeration effect.
Increased failure rate: When the condensing unit (or the compressor) cooling capacity is larger than the evaporator, the excess refrigerant will fill the evaporator with liquid refrigerant, resulting in liquid hammer, and the liquid refrigerant will damage the compressor.
If the evaporator cooling capacity is larger than the condensing unit, it will also have problems. So the match of the condensing unit and the evaporator is very important.

The choose of the evaporation valve for the evaporator cold room is very importance. The size of the expansion valve needs to be selected according to the actual situation.
